Vivacious and with the optimistic spirit of a true pioneer, Jessica Harquail works diligently to spread professionalism, innovative thought and even a little song and dance throughout the office. With nine years of experience in accounting, and seven years in public practice, Jessica rises large in her position as partner and general practitioner – responsible for day-to-day operations, audits, reviews, succession and tax planning, and compliance engagements. The industries she specializes in include: construction, retail, non-profit, farming and family owned and operated business.

Since earning her BBA, honours degree from Memorial University in St. John’s, Newfoundland in 2009, and her Certified General Accountant and Certified Professional Accountant designations in 2016, Jessica has put her impressive all into even the smallest tasks and budgets. She often supports, connects and networks after-hours on behalf of her clients – to help strengthen the local economy and serve as a beacon of inspiration, hope and positive change.

The true embodiment of Givens LLP’s fierce will and determination to give back to the community and make a difference in the lives of those in need, Jessica is actively involved in many local charities and non-profit organizations, from The Fort Saskatchewan Women in Business, International Women’s Day, and Farmer’s Market committees to The Fort Saskatchewan Families First Society.

Motivated by perfection and the desire to make the world a better (and more efficient!) place, Jessica is equally proud of large and small wins, and will ever-so happily accept both on behalf of her clients in her personal quest to help others feel, and ultimately become, more accomplished.

Ever learning and evolving to ensure that his clients are led through challenging times with well-rounded professional advice, Patrick Sanders is determined to succeed. With 15 years of experience specializing in accounting and assurance, mergers and acquisitions, family businesses and succession planning, Patrick towers with experience in construction and fabrication, collection agencies, professionals, real estate and high net worth individuals.

A graduate of The Northern Alberta Institute of Technology, Patrick stands prominently as both IT partner and manager of administration for Givens LLP while serving as director with Nexia Canada and as a member of Nexia Canada’s audit and assurance committee. He proudly holds the designations of Chartered Accountant and Certified General Accountant with The Chartered Professional Accountants of Alberta, and Chartered Accountant with The Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario.

True to his heart as an avid Green Bay Packers fan – motivated by the setting and seeing of goals moving forward, Patrick has served as Treasurer for the Boys and Girls Club of Edmonton; was a member of the transition committee to help them merge successfully with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton; and then served as both Director at Large and as a member of the finance committee for Boys and Girls Clubs Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area. Inspired by the pledge to simply make things better – a sentiment shared by everyone at Givens LLP – Patrick is devoted to the well being of all – be it clients, his family, or simply those in need of a helping hand, a kind word or sound advice.

Firm in her belief that everyone (yes – even number-crunching accountants) can be as relatable, personable and caring as family, Farha Kharadi approaches each new client challenge with intense optimism and the desire to make a difference in people’s lives. Her eight years of experience as an assurance and auditing specialist favours her the unique vantage point from which to identify new pathways to success with emphasis placed on personal tax returns, review engagement and audits.

In addition to a Bachelor of Commerce Degree, Accounting major from MacEwan University, and a Chartered Professional Accounting Designation from CPA Alberta, Farha possesses an extraordinary collection of souvenir coffee mugs from her many travels, and a stirring curiosity which fuels her passion to learn and grow with each new experience.

Recognizing that a willingness to commit to the time and effort needed to spread happiness is a cultural trait celebrated by all at Givens LLP, Farha experiences greatest fulfilment when navigating through the intricate puzzle of a client’s account. It is this common trait that drove her to volunteer as Finance and Partnerships Director for the Mosquers Film Festival Foundation, and it’s with a deep commitment to the betterment of all people that continually motivates her to learn all the ins and outs of client business.
